APEXEL 210° Fisheye Lens Review: A Wide View for Phone Creators

Research-based campaign review · Sources checked September 28, 2026 · Not a hands-on review

The short answer: A fisheye lens turns the edges of a scene into part of the image. That can make a phone camera more expressive, but a dramatic field of view also changes faces, lines and framing.

What is APEXEL offering?

A fisheye lens turns the edges of a scene into part of the image. That can make a phone camera more expressive, but a dramatic field of view also changes faces, lines and framing.

What does the campaign list?

Detail What the campaign says
Field of view 210° claimed by creator
Optics F1.05 aperture and six elements in five groups listed
Design Full-screen image without black circle is creator claim
Focus About 10 cm minimum focus listed in campaign materials
Mount Phone clip; verify fit with your exact phone and case

A 210-degree view is a creative effect

The creator positions the lens for POV footage, travel, street scenes and vlogging. A fisheye field can capture more surroundings, but straight lines bend and people near the edge distort. It is an intentional look, not a drop-in replacement for a standard phone lens.

Compatibility and alignment will shape the result

The campaign lists a clip-based mount. Ask which phone camera modules are supported, whether the clip can be aligned consistently, and how vignetting, flare and focus behave with a phone case installed. A claimed full-screen image should be tested across common devices.

BackerGlow’s take

A 210-degree fisheye is an effect lens, not a general upgrade to a phone camera. It can make close subjects feel immersive, while straight lines bend and faces near the edge stretch. We would compare sample files from the exact phone model with its built-in ultra-wide camera, paying attention to flare, corner sharpness, alignment and how much of the lens housing appears in the frame. If the look is only useful for a few creative shots, renting or borrowing a clip-on lens may be more sensible than expecting it to replace the main camera.

Check the sample files

The creator lists an F1.05 aperture and a six-element, five-group construction. Those figures do not establish low-light image quality on their own. Ask for original files from your phone model at the center and corners, and compare them with the phone’s built-in ultra-wide camera.

What should you ask before backing?

  1. Ask for unedited full-resolution files from your exact phone model, including corners and low-light scenes.
  2. Confirm clip and case fit, lens alignment and whether the phone’s own camera processing crops the image.
  3. Check whether vignetting, flare and focus change across compatible phones.
  4. Verify included caps, case, cleaning accessories, shipping and warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit every smartphone?

The campaign uses a clip mount; verify dimensions, camera placement and case compatibility for your exact phone.

Does 210° mean perfectly straight edges?

No. A fisheye lens is designed for strong wide-angle distortion.

Our verdict: who should consider it?

We would consider the APEXEL lens for photographers who specifically want strong fisheye distortion and enjoy composing around it. We would wait if edge-to-edge sharpness or fast, repeatable phone setup is essential. Buy for the distinctive look, not the degree number alone.

What crowdfunding risks remain?

BackerGlow has not tested the lens or phone clip. Optical performance, compatibility, flare, focus and edge quality remain unverified. Check current reward and delivery terms, and seek unedited samples from your own phone model.
