TENGPAI H1 Review: A 5G Android Phone with a Physical Keyboard

Research-based campaign review · Sources checked September 28, 2026 · Not a hands-on review

The short answer: A keyboard can make short replies and focused writing feel more deliberate. The trade-off is carrying a heavier, unusual phone and checking whether its network bands work where you live.

What is TENGPAI offering?

A keyboard can make short replies and focused writing feel more deliberate. The trade-off is carrying a heavier, unusual phone and checking whether its network bands work where you live.

What does the campaign list?

Detail What the campaign says
Operating system Android 16 claimed
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, creator-listed
Battery 5,000mAh with 35W charging claimed
SIM/storage Hybrid tray: two SIMs or one SIM plus microSD up to 2TB
Weight and rating 330g listed; no water-resistance rating per creator FAQ
Certifications GMS, FCC, CE, UKCA and JATE described as in progress

A keyboard changes the phone’s shape

The campaign pitches a full Android smartphone with physical QWERTY controls. That could help people who draft messages all day or want a distinct typing surface. At 330g, the creator-listed weight is a meaningful trade-off for one-handed use and pocket carry.

Check carrier bands and certification status

“Global 5G” is not enough to establish compatibility. Compare exact LTE/5G bands with your carrier and confirm certification in your country. The creator FAQ says multiple certifications are still being finalized, so do not treat them as completed.

BackerGlow’s take

The H1 is for someone who wants tactile writing and a phone in one object, not simply the smallest or lightest handset. The physical keyboard can make short replies and notes more comfortable, while the unusual shape may slow one-handed use and pocket carry. We would compare it with a standard phone plus a compact Bluetooth keyboard, then check the actual network bands and certification for the country where it will be activated. A good-looking prototype cannot substitute for carrier acceptance, reliable updates and a practical repair path.

The hybrid tray creates a choice

You can use two SIM cards or one SIM plus microSD, not all three together. The FAQ lists a 5,000mAh battery and 35W charging, but no independent runtime tests. There is also no water-resistance rating.

What should you ask before backing?

  1. Confirm LTE/5G bands, VoLTE support and local certification with your carrier and regulator.
  2. Ask which Android version ships, how long security updates are promised and how they are delivered.
  3. Check whether the keyboard tray changes access to charging, cameras, buttons or common cases.
  4. Request a final weight and pocket-carry demonstration with the included tray attached.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use two SIMs and a microSD card together?

No. The creator describes a hybrid slot that accepts either two SIMs or one SIM plus one microSD card.

Is the phone water resistant?

The creator FAQ says it is not rated for water resistance.

Our verdict: who should consider it?

We would consider the H1 as an enthusiast device if its local bands, certification and keyboard layout are confirmed. We would wait if this must be a primary phone for work, travel or emergency use before independent reviews and carrier testing are available.

What crowdfunding risks remain?

BackerGlow has not tested the phone. Carrier compatibility, final certifications, software support, keyboard comfort and battery life remain open questions. Confirm exact bands, service commitments, reward contents and delivery terms.
